Destination: Tennessee

Cummins Falls State Park!

This state park has been on my bucket list for a while! Located east of Nashville, near Cookeville, Tennessee, this state park resides and is known for its breath taking waterfalls!

The waterfall is the focal point of the state park, and can be reached by a one mile or 1.5 mile hike.

The waterfall descends into a pool type area where you can swim up to the waterfall, if you wish to do so.

I have done some research on this area and this is a pretty difficult hike. It is not man made, meaning it has been kept the same and untouched. Because of this, it is difficult because of certain terrain and obstacles in the way.

However, I believe every difficult hike comes with a perk, and this perk is the waterfall.

The hike features a few different trails, including:
  • Blackburn Fork River Trail
  • Falls Overlook Trail
  • John Cummins Trail

This State Park has a lot of area for recreation, to be able to play sports outside or cookout, which is also a plus.

If you do not want to hike the trail to get to the falls, there is an overlook of the falls that can be accessed so you do not have to hike if you don’t want to. (Of course, I always encourage it). But for the sake of time, there is always the option to just access the overlook.

I have never have the opportunity to hike out East, so this is first on my bucket list when I get the chance!
